On Monday, March 19, educators from Cecil County and all across Maryland rallied and marched in Annapolis. There were many passionate speakers who energized the crowd as we encouraged legislators to pass House Bill 1697/Senate Bill 1122 to Fix the Fund and ensure that casino gaming revenue goes to increasing school funding as promised (instead of being redirected). Fixing the Fund would mean an additional $500 million annually for our public schools. The good news is that the State Senate voted unanimously to pass SB 1122, the Fix the Fund Act! Now it’s on to the House, and then passing a constitutional amendment in November. abcNewsReport_FixTheFundRally
