This year we thrilled to help welcome almost 90 new educators to CCPS. CCCTA provided lunch for our new hires on August 20. It was a pleasure meeting our new colleagues and we enjoyed providing information about all of the opportunities a CCCTA membership offers. New hires were given “emergency first aid” kits containing single serving size items and of course chocolate. New members received lunch kits and all were invited to our New Teacher Store on Aug 23. All new hires were able to choose new items to help set up and decorate their classrooms and offices. Organizers, office supplies, bulletin board materials and decorations were popular items. Educators were also able to select gently used items donated from current employees. Bins and organizers were big hits here. All items were free for our new hires in this store. Thank you to our members who volunteered to welcome new teachers and staff our New Teacher Store. A big thank you also goes out to APGFCU and Kilby’s Inc for generous donations to help purchase the new materials. Thanks also goes to Jerry Moran, realtor for donating the use of his moving van to transport the store items from our office to Iron Master’s Mansion in Perryville which was the site of our New Teacher Store held in conjunction with a fantastic welcoming reception sponsored by BEPAC.
